'It was hard to tell the difference between the thumping of your horses' hooves and the thumping of your own heart. Both sounds rang in your ears along with the mangled cries of people you once called your squad. You looked around, noticing that more than half of the right flank had been eaten. Your breathing quickened as you shouted for the rest of your team to keep riding, trying to get your 3-dimensional mobility gear to get behind the titan that was gaining up on you. You cursed under your breath as you noticed the lack of trees surrounding you. A gasp erupted from your throat as the wind whipped at the gash on your face. Tears stung your eyes as you looked behind you, the titan slowly closing the gap between you. You cried out and pushed your horse to go faster.
"[Name]! You have to keep going. You can't slow down now!" You turned your head, your eyes widening as you saw Jean. 'What is he doing here?! He wasn't assigned to Right Flank!' You thought, a bewildered look plastered on your face. He had that determined glint in his eyes, a hint of desperation also visible. You quickly wiped your tears away, nodding at him. He gave you a half smile and you both pushed your horses to go even faster.
'Just a little more. We can make it. C'mon, [Name]...you can do it' you thought to yourself, determination setting in. You were going to make it. You had to.
Suddenly you heard a strangled cry come from behind you. You whipped your head around, eyes widening in horror.
The titan had stopped, lifting up a limp body from the ground. Tears formed in the corner of your eyes as you saw the familiar two toned undercut.
"J-Jean?" You croaked out, unable to comprehend the situation. Things weren't supposed to end this way. This entire mission was supposed to go smoothly, the plan was perfect. Your mouth had gone dry, cracking your lips apart. The only moisture your body allowed you to have were the salty tears that collected in your [e/c] eyes. Your breathing was quick and shallow; your mind racing.
And suddenly, like a burst of light, it hit you.
"Jean!" The desperation had never been stronger as it laced into your strangled cry. You stopped your horse and made a 180, racing toward the titan as it slowly opened its mouth bringing Jean closer. All at once, your world came crushing down, as the titan dangled the young man above his open mouth. The rest of your surroundings grew dark as the weight of the crushing reality hit you: Jean Kirschtein was going to die.
Your Jean.
Tears rolled off your cheeks onto the ground as you watch the titan lower your boyfriend into his mouth, his jaws closing in-'
"NO!" You cried out, fresh sweat and tears from the vivid nightmare you just witness stuck to your face. You looked around, trying to get a clear head. You hung your head, closing your eyes as you recollected your thoughts.
'Jean!' You immediately lifted your head, searching frantically around the room. You spotted the lump of blankets that slowly rose and fell, indicating someone was breathing underneath them. You lurched forward; hand clamped to your mouth, muffling the sob that erupted from your throat. You were shaking, the sobs racking your body.
You were the only survivor that was assigned to the right flank. The nightmares still haunt you, but the nights where you dreamt of losing Jean- those were the worst ones, the ones you couldn't handle. You shakily pushed your hair back as you tried to slow your breathing.
"[Name]?" A hand rested on the small of your back as the concerned face of your boyfriend came into your view, though it was blurred through your tears. Seeing him alive and breathing sent such a relieving shiver through you, yet it also caused you cry even harder as you fell into him, clutching him to you. His arms snaked around you, encasing you within him. His face softened as he stroked your hair.
"Another dream?" You nodded meekly as he pulled you closer. There was a long moment of silence, the only sound being your sniffles. Eventually, you spoke.
"It was you, Jean. You...you followed the right flank, and..you..." Another sob erupted from your throat as you clutched onto him again, the tears soaking his thin brown tunic. He kissed your head, mumbling calming words as you tried to focus on his scent to calm down. You always loved his scent; it was earthly. The faint smell of lavender and lemongrass filled your nose as you inhaled. Your breathing calmed, your heartbeat slowing. Jean pulled away to look at you, bringing his hand up to rest on your cheek. He wiped a stray tear away from your cheek as he gazed down at you.
"[Name]" you looked up at him, sniffling every so often. He smiled lightly pressing his forehead to yours.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily." He said, making you giggle lightly. You bent your head up, pressing your lips to his softly. He kissed back, one hand sneaking around your waist as the other one moved to the back of your neck, deepening the kiss. You smiled as Jean pulled you down with him. You pulled away from the kiss, mostly to regain your breath. You nestled yourself up against him, wrapping your small arms around his strong frame, resting your head against his chest. Jean pulled the covers over the both of you, his hand resting on the small of your back. You both fell into a comfortable silence as you traced designs along his bare chest.
"Jean?" You whispered.
"Hmm?"
"I love you." He smiled, kissing the top of your head.
"I love you too." You smiled, a blush rising to your cheeks.
"Promise you won't leave me." You stopped your movements on his chest, your eyes growing heavy as you grew more exhausted.
"I promise" was all you heard as the drowsiness overcame and lulled you into a deep sleep, the smile ever present on your face.

Sneaking Out (Jean X Reader)
You sneak quietly around the corner and away from your dorm. You know if you’re seen you’ll be doing chores the rest of your miserable existence. Part of you debates going back but you are so excited by the idea of sneaking out.
Your heart is beating so fast now. You see what looks like a shadow down the hall. You slink back into the shadows, brushing a strand of (h/c) hair out of your eyes. You look around a moment hoping no one sees you.
What are you doing out in this hallway? You and your boyfriend of three years have decided to spend a little extra time together. Now that you've both graduated and moved to the Survey Corps h

Angel (Jean x Reader)
It's been past 15 years since the battle between human kind and titan was long fought and won. Everyone was living a peaceful, colored life. A certain dirty blond laid on the cool grass, staring at the night sky with a smile.
"Daddy!" His little 5 year old daughter ran to her father, falling on him.
"Ah! Perla, what are you doing up so late at night?" Jean questioned her, while running his hands through her strands of hair. She giggled, laying next to Jean setting her head on his arm as cushion.
"I didn' see you in bed with mommy, so I came to fin' you. I always see you here daddy, lookin' at the stars." She cuddled closer. He cracked a sm

You rummaged in every corner of your cupboard, and you somehow cannot find your winter mittens. Having the job of decorating the outside portion of the house would be absolutely hell without your gloves.
Rendered defeated, you slammed the cupboard shut and walked towards the door, you'll just have to make with what you can.
The outside was blanketed with snow. Layers and layers of thick white ice beneath your feet. You ran your bare hands on the wood that made the walls, and felt a sharp shiver run along your arm as your skin made contact with the snow.
Feeling the sense of fulfilling your responsibility, to walked off to the other side of
